Album: woodwork:Sack Back windsor chair

In 1998, I took a Sack Back chair class with Michael Dunbar at the Windsor Institute with my father. It was a great experience and I've been using the chair ever since.

I painted the chair green using milk paint shortly after the class, but never took any pictures of it. In 2007 after building my Bow Back chair, I repainted the sack back Salem Red.

In this class, we used hand tools almost exclusively. The legs, stretchers, and arm posts were provided pre-turned. We only used the lathe to add tenons at the appropriate length for our chair.
